Interns and WWOOFers
WWOOFers and Interns will help with seed starting, planting, transplanting, crop maintenance, CSA preparation (harvesting, washing, bunching produce), building new farm structures, farm chores and working growers' markets. If a volunteer has a specific area of interest, specialized projects are encouraged.
Due to a longer commitment, Interns will be given specific responsibilities on the farm.
Volunteers have access to Carr Lake via the public boat ramp located less than a mile from the farm entrance. Popular mountain biking/hiking/jogging trails are just 3.5 miles down the road at Forest Meadows.
Internships
Part Time Internships: Part time interns are asked to work 80hrs/month in exchange for free produce, employee discounts on beef, honey, and cheese, as well as job experience. Housing is not provided for part time interns. Because the hours are shorter, your scheudle will be more flexible and concentrated on specific areas. We ask that you commit to a three month or six month internship.
Full Time Internship: Full time interns are asked to work 40+ hours per week in exchange for room and board. The schedule is Monday-Friday plus every other Saturday for Market. Full time interns must commit to a three month, six month, or one year stay.
Our housing options include a campsite with a wash-house equipped with two bathrooms, two showers, a washing machine, and a clothes line in addition to a community house a mile from the farm with trails that connect to the main growing area. ***We are currently building a little village on the farm for all WWOOFers and Interns. The expected finish date is August 2013***
The kitchen will be stocked with bulk grains (rice, quinoa, etc.), dried beans, veggies from the farm, eggs, bread, and meat on special occasions. All of the staples like oil and spices will also be made available. Vegans, vegetarians, and individuals with food allergies can be happily accommodated. Meals will be made on an individual basis. We eat most lunches together on the farm.
Wwoofers
While we require a two week minimum stay, we prefer that WWOOFers stay at least a month. After two months, WWOOFers will be considered for a longer stay on an individual basis. 40+ hours per week work requirement. We accept volunteers year round. Transportation can be provided from the airport and local bus stations.
The campsite, communal house, and food mentioned in the Full Time Intern section also apply to WWOOFers!
